Passionate about her clients’ success
Heidii’s passion is working with children—and their families—who are experiencing communication difficulties due to apraxia of speech, oral motor planning disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, language disorders, sensory integration difficulties or a combination of any of these. Heidii is sought after in this area for her skills in helping create successful language advancements—improvements that positively impact every relational facet of a child’s life. Heidii sees children and youth ages 1 to 18 years.
Passionate about her expertise
Heidii specializes in oral motor and speech disorders as well as sensory processing disorders. Her treatments include tongue thrust therapy and hippotherapy, in addition to traditional speech and language therapy. Her background includes 20+ years’ experience working with children in both clinical and educational settings. She has a master’s degree in speech and hearing science from Portland State University and has a certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA). A lifelong student of her profession, Heidii is currently working on her certification in orofacial myology. She is a member of ASHA, the Oregon Speech and Hearing Association, the International Association of Orofacial Myology and the American Hippotherapy Association.
Passionate about giving back to her community
During her graduate study years, Heidii spent summers providing specialized services to patients with disabilities at the Kiwanis International Camp and Shriner’s Hospital. She is an active supporter of Special Olympics and volunteers at the East Side Athletic Club Adaptive Fitness Class for special needs persons (teens to adults).
Kerry Heintze M.S., SLP
Kerry approaches each person as a unique individual. From music to Minecraft, she integrates each client's interests, whenever possible, to create fun and engaging therapy sessions. Kerry has experience working with a variety of childhood and adult communication challenges and speech-language disorders; however, her special focus is helping children and adults access and use AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) to express themselves. As a certified LSVT Loud clincian, Kerry treats individuals with Parkinson's and she also has experience helping people with other neurological disorders, such as aphasia and dementia. She applies a whole-person centered approach and works with children, adults, and families to create an integrative plan of care that will foster growth.
Kerry loves animals and the outdoors and she is thrilled to support clients' goals while using equine-assisted treatment and equine movements known as, hippotherapy. Speech-language therapy on horses! She completed the AHA (American Hippotherapy Association) Level 1 Course.
She received degrees from both the University of Colorado, Boulder and California State University. Kerry supports ASHA (American Speech-Language Hearing Association), AHA (American Hippotherapy Association), LSA (Linguistic Society of America), ISAAC (International Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication), and ASAN (Autistic Self Advocacy Network).
In her free time, Kerry can be found having adventures around Portland with her pooch, Ms. Bela Barktalk, the renowned bark-pathologist, who has helped countless pups improve their woof and get their bow-wow back.
Theresa has been working in the medical billing field for over twenty years. She works hard to partner with our patients to ensure they are informed and aware of their insurance benefits and the billing process prior to the start of care. Theresa enjoys spending her time off with her husband and three children; hiking, biking, skiing, playing soccer, traveling and attending concerts.
